violence

while violence is unpleasant, it is hardly avoidable during the course of one's life span. Better to try to limit it than to avoid it.

avoiding the violence once the violence has begun is the trickiest part. especially if by "avoid" you mean "cover your face and hope for the best". my crooked nose agrees.
